In order to meet the wide range of challenging and rapidly growing global demands for professional education, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established since the inception of the college in 1996. The department has secured permanent affiliation from Anna University and is accredited by NBA. In pursuit of excellence, the department is recognized as a nodal centre by Anna University to pursue Ph.D. in the areas relevant to Electronics and Communication. The department has been sanctioned with a P.G. course on M.E. Communication Systems.
The department has received grants under the MODROBS scheme from AICTE, and funds to conduct various programs like Induction Programs, Faculty Development Programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences were received from ISTE, and IETE. IEI, DRDO, and other sponsoring agencies. For its teaching excellence, the ECE department has received a teaching award in engineering from Staffordshire University, UK. The Department of ECE has been ranked 3rd in All India ranking in the AICTE-CII survey. Faculty members of the department have received many awards, including Best ISF Coordinator awards from IETE, Young Researcher award, and Best Teacher award, etc. Faculty members have received research project funding from funding agencies like DST and have several published patents. Strong Industry-Interaction with reputed National and International organizations and MoUs with the best industries have enabled the students to be industry ready. Students of the department of ECE have excelled in various fields like Hackathons, Design competitions, paper presentations, Project expos, and Quiz competitions outside the campus and won cash prizes and trophies. The department of ECE has a consistent Placement record and has a quality intake of students.

The department of ‘Computer Science and Engineering’ has been established in the year 1996 with initial intake of 60, then increased to 120 in the year of 2001 and 180 in the year of 2019.
The department is offering U.G (B.E CSE) since inception and P.G (M.E CSE) Programme since 2005. Annual Intake for PG programme is 18 students.
The department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation since 2007.
Both U.G and P.G programs are permanently affiliated by Anna University from 2009, 2014 respectively.
Department has approved Research Nodal Centre for pursuing MS (Research) and Ph.D by Anna University, Chennai from 2010 and 13 research scholars successfully completed their Ph.D., and 1 in M.S., programme.
Received TCS best student award for the year 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016 & 2017.
