The Department of Physics was started in December 1996 catering to the needs of Engineering Departments and has grown in tune with the demands of the Institution and improved its strength. Department consists of 10 experienced faculty members with 6 Doctorates. The faculty members have presented/published research papers in National/International Conferences and Journals
Department of Physics has been recognized as an approved research centre by Anna University, Chennai.
To build foundation for excellence and spur development of the Institution as a premier Institution by igniting and nurturing enthusiasm, interests and passion, in the study of physics, in professional courses, as a part of curricula
To awaken the young minds and discover their talents both in theory and in practical Physics, through dedication to teaching, commitment to students and innovative instructional methods like LCD presentation, OHP/LCDs etc.
To support the developmental activities of the College and make the Department vibrant.
To make vital contributions in areas of emphasis such as faculty, modern labs, Department library and demonstrate a high level of competence in the study of Engineering Physics.
To introduce pioneering programs in the Department that will embrace heritage and values of the Institution.
To organize and sustain efficient operating systems in the Department for realization of our objectives as Institution of eminence and International standards.
To evolve strategies in the Department for continuous Improvement.
Department was started in the year 2007-2008 with an intake of 60.
Post Graduate (Structural Engineering) started in the year of 2013-14 with the intake of 18
One Patent filed in the year 2014.
The advisory committee has been formed to monitor and improve the academic quality and to guide various activities of the department in the year 2014-15.
“MOUs signed with National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), GRUNDFOS Pumps, SANVIR Associates, LAND COORDINATES Technology, CREDAI, ECO CARE, HUBERT ENVIRO, CSIR-SERC, Hi-Tech Concrete solutions and KGCL.
All laboratories are approved by DSIR.
