On the Occasion of “World No-Tobacco Day 2023”, The Department of
Biomedical Engineering in association with Anti-Ragging cell has organized a
seminar on “Awareness on Effects of Tobacco” on 31.05.2023, 10:00 am to 11.00
am at Hi-Tech all II for First Year BME & ECE-A Students.
The resource person of this program was Dr.T.Mansoor Ali, Dental Surgeon
& Tobacco Cessation Specialist, Penn Nalam & Aan Nalam Hospital (NGO),
Chennai. Dr.G.Babu, Head of the Department of Biomedical engineering and Dr. K.
Rahimunnisa, Associate Professor of ECE were the conveners of the programme.
Mrs. K. Shruthi AP/BME and Mrs.K.Abirami, AP/ECE were the coordinators of
the programme.
The sessoion started with the welcome address by Devishree.S of I BME.
Fathima Raeesah S Of I BME introduced the Resource person. Coordinators
felicitated the chief Guest with the memonto. Dr.T.Mansoor Ali started his
presentation with the statistics of Oral Cancer. He had briefed the Cause, Diagnosis
and Treatment of Oral Cancer. Sir, also shared his experience during the treatment of
patients at each stage of cancer. The session end with the pledge for the No-Tobacco
day. The session was interactive, Participants had asked their questions and gave their
valuable feedback during the session. Mrs.K.Shruthi, AP/BME delivered the vote of
thanks.
