Department of Physics, Easwari Engineering College has organized One Week Online International Faculty Development Program on Frontiers in Physics Research from July 24th to 29th 2023. The Chief Guest for the inaugural function of FDP held on July 24th 2023 was Dr. Atanu Dutta, Professor – Higher Academic Grade, Division of Physics, School of Advanced Sciences, Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai.
Dr. S. Nirmala, Associate Professor & Head and Convener of the programme welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of Faculty Development Program. Principal, Easwari Engineering College has delivered the inaugural address. In his speech, Dr. Atanu Dutta, has spoken about cathode materials for development of new generation solid oxide fuel cells. There were 9 technical sessions for six days. The first day comprising three sessions is through physical mode and the remaining five days comprising six sessions is through online mode. Speakers are from SSN College of Engineering, SSN Research Centre, Kalavakkam, B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Vandalur, St. Joseph College of Engineering, CSIR-CSIO, Sairam Institute of Technology, University College of London, Goonworld Corporate Research Institute, South Korea, Linkoping University Sweden and Univesity of Averio Portugal. The total number of participants registered for the FDP was 62. Lectures were delivered on various topics like Photocatalytic Materials for Environmental Applications, Green Synthesis of carbon dots for biosensors, Advanced Electrochemical Energy Storage System, NLO and Single Harmonic Crystals, Clean Energy Storage, Brown Millerites for energy and environmental applications, Instrumentation and IOT in modern Era, Solar Cells etc. All the participants got benefitted with the lectures and enriched their knowledge. It helped to understand the research finding in different fields and motivated the participants. The FDP was concluded with a valedictory session.
