Summary of the Event:

In this session we understood about termites and the methods to control . Termites food is starch which is the reason we find termites in fall ceiling etc. As gypsum contains starch. How they enter the building through pipe lines, motor gaps.

How it can be prevented using two methods i) post construction ii) pre construction

In Pre construction:

1) WHO chemicals are used in foundation (chloropyriphos (cpp) which is banned as it is very cautious since it reduces the soil quality. Imida is the best as it doesn’t pollute the soil)

2)  during plinth wall is increased and leveled, chemical is sprayed 5.5 liters for vertical, 7.5 liters for horizontal

3) after completion of building(raw before paint works) we have to add these chemicals at the setback area

In post construction, drilling at the point of wall junction location and inject the chemical

What are the new technology used to control

i.termite monitoring kit at every 10ft of the building in all direction, which can be checked every 6 months

ii.termite segment treatment, which has 30 years of warranty
