The Department of Information Technology, Easwari Engineering College, organized an insightful Guest Lecture titled “There’s More Than One Way to Build Tech” at TRP Auditorium, Easwari Engineering College.
The session was delivered by Ms. Jemima Thavaseelan, who shared valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities available in the technology industry beyond traditional software development roles. Drawing from her professional experience, she introduced students to the field of Product Marketing and explained its growing significance in today’s technology ecosystem.
The session aimed to broaden students’ understanding of the various career pathways within the technology industry and to highlight the importance of interdisciplinary roles in building successful technology products. The resource person elaborated on how engineering, product management, design, sales, and marketing teams collaborate to develop and deliver impactful solutions. She also explained the responsibilities of a Product Marketer, including product positioning, customer research, messaging, product launches, sales enablement, and the effective use of AI-driven marketing strategies.
Students were also provided with valuable guidance on exploring Product Marketing as a career, developing technical and communication skills, building customer-centric thinking, leveraging AI tools, and creating a strong personal brand. The speaker emphasized the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, collaboration, and curiosity in building a successful career in the evolving technology landscape, inspiring students to confidently explore opportunities beyond conventional engineering roles.
