The Youth Red Cross (YRC) of Easwari Engineering College organized a sanitary napkin distribution event at Sarojini School on Sunday, August 11th. This initiative aimed to educate young girls about menstrual hygiene and ensure access to essential sanitary products. The event focused on creating awareness about the importance of menstrual health and hygiene. The event began at 4:00 PM with an awareness talk by YRC Program Officer Mrs. C. Manjula, who spoke with the children about the menstrual cycle, and the significance of maintaining hygiene during menstruation, and dispelled common myths and misconceptions.
Following this, the event leads- Keerthika Vishalini, and Bhagyashri, and Priyadarshini-addressed the children. They provided detailed guidance on the proper use of sanitary napkins and the importance of regular changes to prevent infections. Number of Packs Distributed: 79 packs, each containing six sanitary napkins. The office bearers of YRC interacted with the students, ensuring that they understood the importance of menstrual hygiene. They also answered questions from the students, providing reassurance and support. The event fostered a positive environment where the students felt comfortable discussing their concerns about menstrual health. The sanitary napkin distribution event successfully achieved its objectives by empowering young girls with the knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual health effectively. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by a student from Sarojini School, expressing their appreciation for the YRC’s efforts.
