Network Designing Devices and IP Subnetting Concepts

Easwari Engineering College, Department of Information Technology organized a core teaching session on the “Network Designing Devices and IP Subnetting Concepts” on 11th September 2024.

The session began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the guest speaker, Mr. M.P.Arun Kumar, a Senior Cyber Security Consultant, IBM Security Services, Chennai. He started by providing an overview of networking, explaining the significance of networking devices and their essential role in the current market.

He then covered the fundamentals of IP addresses, explaining the different types and using practical examples to clarify subnetting. He also touched on proxy websites, discussing how they can bypass search engine restrictions and their implications.

Towards the end, he addressed the global threat of malwares and the evolving cybersecurity landscape. He concluded by highlighting the career opportunities in networking and cybersecurity, encouraging both men and women to explore this promising field.
