The Department of BioTechnology, SRM Easwari Engineering College, Chennai Ramapuram happy to share Dr. M. Harshiny, Assistant Professor, deeply grateful for the wonderful opportunity to participate in the four-day leadership training program under the Women in Space and Allied Science Leadership Program (WisLP), an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in collaboration with the British Council. The training program was held at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata.
The primary objective of this program is to empower Indian women scientists by enhancing their leadership, decision-making, and managerial skills, enabling them to excel in their professional endeavors. The program featured eminent speakers and experienced trainers who shared their insights and expertise.
Special Training Highlights:
Prof. Elena, a senior research leader at Coventry University, and Prof. James Brusey, a Professor of Computer Science and the lead for AI for Cyber Physical Systems at Coventry University, conducted special training sessions on topics such as Discovering Your Leadership Strategy and Navigating Challenges.

Additional Highlights: During the program, I had the incredible opportunity to visit some of the highly sophisticated instruments at IACS, Kolkata. These included the JEM-ARM 300 F2 Atomic Resolution Microscope (JEOL), a cutting-edge instrument for atomic-level imaging, and the supercomputer, showcasing the advanced technological capabilities of the institute.
