The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Easwari Engineering College successfully organized the Inaugural Ceremony of the International Sign Language Laboratory on April 6, 2026, at the Admin Block. This initiative, funded by the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), promotes inclusivity and accessibility for the hearing-impaired community.
The event was graced by Dr. R. Shivakumar, Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions. We were honored by the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Alexander Dodonov and Special Guest Dr. C. P. Girish Kumar. The inauguration marked a significant step toward bridging communication gaps through advanced research and innovation. The laboratory will serve as a platform for developing assistive communication technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration.
