The Campus Life Team (Tenure 2026 – 2027) of Easwari Engineering College successfully organized Homecoming’26 on 15th August 2026 at the Open Air Theatre (OAT), bringing together alumni, students, and guests for an evening filled with celebration, interaction, entertainment, and nostalgia. The event was planned to provide alumni with an opportunity to reconnect with their peers, revisit familiar spaces, and relive cherished memories from their college days through a series of engaging activities and experiences.
The Homecoming celebrations commenced with arrangements and activities being made available from 4:00 PM onwards. The registration desk was set up to facilitate the smooth registration and entry of alumni and guests. Following registration, attendees could explore the various experiences and activities arranged across the venue.
The photobooth area featured a banner photobooth that provided alumni and guests with an opportunity to capture memorable moments. A “Write One, Take One” advice board, along with an Easwari Times newspaper-themed retro photobooth setup, added a nostalgic and interactive element to the celebrations. The stall setups were also operational from the beginning of the event and included face painting and bead/bracelet-making activities, allowing attendees to participate in creative and engaging experiences.
The venue was decorated to create a vibrant and welcoming ambience. The pathway leading towards the event area was adorned with tissue flowers and paper fans, while the OAT was enhanced with serial lights, a swing, and a decorative tunnel, contributing to the festive and nostalgic atmosphere. The swing provided alumni and guests with a relaxed space to interact and capture memorable moments.
A major highlight of the evening was the opportunity for alumni to walk around the college blocks and visit classrooms. This allowed them to revisit familiar spaces, reminisce about their college days, and share memories of their time at the institution, adding a meaningful nostalgic element to the Homecoming experience.
A variety of games and interactive activities were arranged for alumni and guests, including Electric Buzzer – Buzz Rush, Rod Catching – Grip and Win, Frisbee Toss – Aim and Claim, Dart Board with Dares – Dare Devil, Move the Sticks to Form the Shape/Number – Think Twice, Ball Maze Challenge – Maze Runner, Table Tennis Challenge – Smash and Score, Ddakji – Flip Clash, Touch the Colour According to the Commands – Rapid Reaction, and Carrom Board – Strike Zone. These activities encouraged interaction among alumni and added an element of fun and friendly competition to the celebrations.
The main event officially commenced with the formal inauguration. The event’s MC, Mr. Andre Simon, then kicked off the show with an engaging interaction with the audience, setting the stage for the evening’s celebrations. This was followed by Laasya’s classical dance performance, which added a graceful cultural element to the programme.
The alumni performances began with Kannadhasan and Salaudeen presenting solo singing performances, followed by Saravanan showcasing his talent through a solo dance performance. Killas, the official western dance club of our college, delivered an energetic performance, while alumnus Nithish Kovalan presented a rap performance. These performances provided alumni with a platform to showcase their talents and created an engaging atmosphere for the audience.
The programme continued with a rapid-fire session and MC interaction involving the audience, followed by a performance by Dions, the college’s official theatre club. Alumnus Maaran then conducted an interactive segment with the audience. The evening continued with the felicitation of Vikkals Vikram by the Principal Ma’am, after which he entertained the gathering with his stand-up comedy performance. The Tron performance followed, adding a high-energy visual element to the celebrations.
An engaging segment of “Guess the Gen Z Term” was conducted by the MC along with the audience, creating an enjoyable and interactive atmosphere. The segment encouraged participation and added a light-hearted element to the evening’s celebrations.
DJ Black then made his entry and was felicitated by the Principal Ma’am. The DJ session created an energetic atmosphere and brought the Homecoming celebrations to their peak. The Moonlight Dinner also commenced as part of the closing celebrations, allowing alumni and guests to gather, interact, and enjoy dinner together.
The event concluded with the closing remarks and vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of the Homecoming ’26 celebrations. The event provided a meaningful platform for alumni and students to reconnect, while the nostalgic activities, interactive experiences, cultural performances, comedy, and music created a memorable celebration.
Overall, the event was a grand success, reflecting the dedication and teamwork of the Campus Life Team in creating a warm, engaging, and unforgettable Homecoming experience for the college community.
