Event Summary:
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Easwari Engineering College (Autonomous), Ramapuram, Chennai, successfully organized the QNX Student Orientation Program in collaboration with QNX Everywhere to introduce students to the fundamentals of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and the QNX software development ecosystem. The session was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by providing students with a strong foundation in embedded software development and real-time operating systems. The program featured expert talks by industry professionals from BlackBerry QNX and Pi Square Technologies, who shared their knowledge and practical experience in embedded and automotive technologies.
During the session, students gained valuable insights into the QNX Software Development Platform (SDP), including its development workflow, QNX Momentics IDE, toolchain, debugging environment, project creation, build process, and application deployment. The speakers also highlighted the real-world applications of QNX in automotive, industrial automation, medical devices, and embedded systems, while discussing current industry trends, certification opportunities, internships, and career pathways in embedded software development. The orientation program provided participants with practical exposure to industry-standard tools, enhanced their understanding of the QNX ecosystem, and motivated them to pursue careers in the rapidly growing embedded and automotive technology sectors.
