Inauguration of SME/SAE/ISHRAE

The inauguration of the following professional societies SME, SAE, ISHRAE student chapter, Department of Mechanical Engineering, EEC was successfully held on 28th August 2017. Mr.S.Ramesh, Vice President – Manufacturing & Head SEZ Plant Sundram Fasteners Ltd., Mahindra city, graced the inaugural function. The vice principal and H.O.D of Mechanical gave the welcome address and highlighted the importance of being a member of professional clubs. He also proposed to include two more professional clubs for the benefit of the students. The presidents of SME, SAE, ISHRAE introduced the office bearers for the year 2017-18 and subsequently presented the annual report for the academic year 2016-17. The principal gave the presidential address by highlighting the importance of being a leader and the qualities of the good leader.The toppers of the department were honoured by the chief guest. The SME Coordinator introduced the chief guest and spoke about his achievements. The chief guest gave a presentation about “India at 2020”. He highlighted the current trends in automobile industries and the role of young engineers for the society. He also said about the transition of conventional I.C engines to electric cars. He pointed out that India is performing well in the automotive sector and soon it will become one of the top manufacturers of automobiles in the world. Finally, the SME secretary gave the vote of thanks.

Easwari Engineering College was instituted in the academic year 1996 -1997, with the Approval of Government of Tamil Nadu and AICTE, New Delhi. As per Govt., Regulations for affiliation, originally the college was affiliated to the University of Madras, subsequently, the college is affiliated to Anna University Chennai since 2002. Pursuing the philosophy of continuous learning, the Institution prepares the students to score creditably in the Academic sessions and also encourages them to develop their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and attitudes to approach life with confidence.
